Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas

I was pulled over for a cracked windsheild, I received a fix it ticket and a ticket for no proof insurance. I missed my court day and now have a bench warrant. I was insured, so I have proof of insurance and I sold the car before my court date. What is the best way to resolve this issue and will I go to jail?

The first thing I want to do for any client is to get that warrant pulled. You will post a bond either with cash or by using a bondsman. Then you will be issued a new court date. If you had insurance in effect when you were pulled over, the DA will usually recommend leniency, which might result in the ticket being dismissed. If you got insurance after the stop, DA's are less likely to recommend leniency. In Kansas, driving without proof of insurance is a misdemeanor and can result in jail time, so do not plead guilty. Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss your options.
