Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas
speeding violation
I was given a ticket in Kansas for going 65 in a 30. I am 21 and have no previous traffic tickets. I heard that doing double the speed limit was a felony, Is this true? Also what penalties could I be looking at for this ticket?

Re: speeding violation
This is a very serious charge. Whether it is a felony is determined by who wrote the ticket and what they charged you with. If you have aclean record, and based upon your age, you may be able to get a plea deal. Contact an attorney soon. If the ticket was issued in the eastern 1/3 of Kansas, I may be able to assist you. If I can't, I may know someone who can.
Good Luck
