Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas
Will it stay?
Hi, I was just curious to one thing. I got a speeding ticket on July 14th, and i'm only 17 years old. I was wondering if once i turn 18 will this be dropped from my record or will it always be there. Another thing is the court date is August 10 and i turn 18 on the 21st of July. The reason i'm asking is that i am debating on whether to get a diversion on this because if it will be dropped from my record i don't think it'll affect my insurance rates. This is my question i know that i was goin a little to fast but i want to know about how it will be on my record...thanks

Re: Will it stay?
The ticket will stay on your record for five years, no matter what your age is. Call the court clerk to see what the procedure is to change this to a non-moving violation that will not go on your record. It will cost more, but you will save money in the long run.
