Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas
Wrong date on sitation and report
Okay my brother in law went to court today and turns out the officer wrote the wrong date of the accident on the citation and report. Anyway the judge didn't want to hear it basically calling him a liar. The thing is that they hadn't even purchased the vehical until 4 months after the ticket and report accuse the accident of happening. The insurance company is denying to cover anything because duh they didn't have insurance on the vehical at the time. Oh and did I mention when the paper printed the accident details it said he collided with a moped not another car as what actually happened? This happened in Kansas and they are having trouble obtaining a copy of the police report. What should they do?

Re: Wrong date on sitation and report
It sounds like your brother-in-law should hire legal counsel to straighten this out. If it is within 30 miles of KC, I may be able to help him, or refer him to someone who can.
Good Luck
