Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas
After eight years of living in small town kansas, parking on the street during winter and summer and never being ticketed, this year (my 9th year) I was told by a city worker who came to my door and said that I was being ticketed $120 ticket for parking on a snow route. I have parked there before during snow times and never bothered. There was never any notice that the rules or laws were changing and would be ticketed. My question is this: can they now, without notifying us of a change of policy write this ticket after all these 8 years? Would it help to go to court and at least ask for some kind of lightening of fine? I have taken pictures showing that on the same street 2 blks down there is allowed parallel parking even. Is this fair and correct?

It sounds like you (or your attorney) need to investigate the municipal ordinances in the cut in which tie you're being ticketed. It may be that there had not been a snow route declaration in prior years.
Good luck
