Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas

Estate

My mother died about a year and a half ago, I just recently found out. She was unmarried and I'm her only surviving child. She was leaving me her half of her house, that she bought with her boyfriend who died two years prior to her. The paperwork she showed me dissappeared upon her death, and no one informed me of her death . I found out a year later. Do I have the right to her half of the house and her belongings at the time of her death. If so what do I do next I don't have money to hire an expensive lawyer

Re: Estate

Either hire a reasonably priced attorney or contact the county clerk about doing a small estate affidavit, or limited asset estate filing.

Good Luck
