Property designated in a Will

I have an elderly friend that wants a will drawn up to list property that they co-own with another person to be listed in their will to be left to different heirs. What happens when they die if the co-owner of the property doesn't want to sell?

It depends on the real type of ownership. It might be in an ownership type where the entire property goes to the survivor.

If not, then it is possible to petition of partition to force a sale.
