Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas
I have just received documents from a law office regarding the Last Will and Testament of one of my aunts, which lists me a legatee. The documents include a Petition for Probate of Will and Appointing Executrix Under Kansas Simplified Estates Act. The cover letter ends with this instruction: "You are required to file your written defenses to the admission of the decedent's Will to probate on or before [deadline] in the above referenced Court." I'm not entirely certain what that instruction means for me. I have no objections to anything the Petition and Will contain, but is there something I need to send to the court by that deadline? My sole interest would be to see the Will proceed through probate in a straight-forward manner.

Unless you have an objection to the applicant acting as Executrix, you probably have no objections or defenses to file.
