Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas
Transferring property
My mother would like to ''give'' me her home before she dies. If she quick claim deeds it to me, will I have to pay capital gains on the entire preoceeds when I sell it? Is there a better way for her to give it to me? CAn I buy it from her ''on paper'' with no cash actually changing hands? Thanks

Re: Transferring property
The first part of your question relates to tax law and should be directed to a specialist in that area (either a tax attorney or accountant). The second part of your question seems to be whether you can say in a contract you paid money for something, but not really pay the money. I would never suggest you sign any legal document as true if in fact it is not.
