do i have to use company paid vacation time before starting workman compensation for an injury

No, you do not have to use vacation time. However, for weekly work comp benefits to begin under Kansas law, you must be off work for more than one week. You must also have an off-work slip from an authorized doctor. Consult an experienced workers' compensation lawyer. We are here to help.
