Legal Question in Workers Comp in Kansas
My daughter slipped on a lid left on the floor and hurt her knee. She is 8 months pregnant which is not a factor as far as the injury. It appears the fall may have bruised her bone, but no one can be certain because she's too far along to have x-rays done. She is doing much better now, but is still on the retrictions of the company doctor. She was told that she can't miss or cancel any of their doctor's appts and she has to go to be seen on her own time/unpaid. Is there a law re: this? She was hurt on the job and is losing money (at a very low paying job) because of the way the doc schedules her.

She should have her attorney request temporary compensation for doctor appointments during hours she could be making money.
Failure to pay wages during medical appointments related to a workers' compensation claim is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
