Legal Question in Workers Comp in Kansas

I was injured at work and I went to the workman's comp dr. He released me back to work without any restrictions. About a couple weeks after the visit the pain has gotten worse in my both my wrist. I had to go to the ER. The ER DR. put me on leave until I see the workman's come DR. again. My job and the workman's comp insurance are denying and not honoring the ER DR's note. I'm not for sure what to do.

You may need to go through the Kansas process of obtaining a Preliminary Hearing. That will resolve the issues of who will be treating you, and whether you should be off work. Do not delay, as wrist injuries normally heal better if they are treated in a timely way. Consult an experienced work comp lawyer. We are here to help!

Get a lawyer, one experienced in Kansas workers compensation cases. You need to ask for a Preliminary Hearing to request the Judge order your employer and its insurance carrier to provide more medical treatment for you. An ER doctor's opinion may not carry enough weight to overcome a workers compensation specialist, so your attorney may need to hire an experienced doctor to give another opinion. You have $500 available from the carrier to get another opinion. You can probably get the treatment, but you do need good legal help. Good luck.
