Legal Question in Workers Comp in Kansas
knee injury
Is a 9% impairment rating normal for a lower extremity partial disability? I had knee surgery and am back at work, but they did deem me to be 9% permanent partial disability.

Re: knee injury
Under the Kansas Workers' Compensation Act, impairment ratings are to be determined according to the American Medical Association Guide to the Evaluation of Impairments, Fourth edition. The rating depends on the doctor's evaluation of your range of motion, etc. It is usually a good idea to consult a specialist for another opinion instead of relying on just the company doctor. An experienced workers' compensation attorney can set that up for a client.
