If a worker were to get hurt on a job such as cutting off part of a finger is the employeer obligated to turn this into their workmans comp. insurance or are they allowed to pay it out of their pocket without the employee knowing this is how it was taken care of?

Re: Workmans compensation
In Kansas, even though an employer may pay money, a workers' compensation claim is not closed until a Settlement Hearing is conducted. Consult an experienced workers' compensation lawyer.
