Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Child Support/Child Visitation

How do I go about making changes on a divorce decree. I want visitations to be specific and specify during the period of visition with me I don't have to pay child support. I haven't seen my children since my divorce in 4 years. Where do I start to get my divorce papers changed. I want to do them in Kentucky. If possible.

Re: Child Support/Child Visitation

Usually a modification of a divorce decree occurs in the county and state of the original divorce. Sometimes this can occur elsewhere.

To have a set visitation schedule, I normally move the Court to modify the divorce decree as to visitation. For most cases this occurs on a regular bases due to changes in the parents work schedule and other circumstances.

I have made the legal argument many times in front of different Judges that child support should be reduced during a parent's extended visitation, but most of the time I have been unsuccesful.

Re: Child Support/Child Visitation

If the case is in California is simply file an OSC to modify support and visitation. I do not know what the law or the procedure is in Kentucky.
