my girlfriend wants me to claim we are married so she can get her inheritance. is this legal

Probably. Also, you're unlikely to succeed. Won't someone want to see your marriage certificate?

If you assist your girlfriend in perpetrating a fraud, you may be guilty of committing a crime, under Kentucky law. If you swear, under oath, that you are married--when you are not--you may also be found guilty of perjury.
