Legal Question in Disability Law in Kentucky
Disability Related Suspension and Disclosure
I have cerebal palsy and multiple head injuries, as well as several other genetic related conditions that effect my immune system. This fact is documented in my personel file at the school on a physical i had to have before I began my employment at EHS as HS Social Studies Teacher/Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach as of 7/28/2003-present.
On November 2nd 2005 there was an incident at practice related to my head injuries that resulted in my indefinate suspension as girls varsity assistant basketball coach as of November 4th 2005. On November 7th 2005 I recieved a letter from the acting superitendent stating I was fired as girls assistant basketball coach, after a meeting with the principal on November 8th I was told this was not the case. On Decemeber 15th I had a formal meeting with the principal and was informed I was reinstated as of Jan 3rd 2006 with one stipulation, I must provide medical documentation that i am fit to coach.
My legal question is this
1. Do I really have to provide a doctors note to be reinstated because nothing has changed with me medically since last year.
2. Did they have a right to suspend me for 2 months and loss of pay because of an incident related to my disability.

Re: Disability Related Suspension and Disclosure
Dear Madam/Sir,
You did not exactly elaborate on the incident during basketball practice which prompted the school authorities to impose this condition on you. It may be that they worry about your health and fear that your continued employment therein may eventually lead to a further breakdown of your health. You may wish to expound further and reach me at [email protected].
