Power of attorney is a legal definition for someone who has some limited control over assets or legal/medical decision-making. It does not make them responsible for you, that would be more of a guardianship. If you've given someone power of attorney over your assets and they aren't giving you your own money for food, you need to go get an attorney immediately.
