Bankruptcy and Retirement

If I don't pay my credit card creditors can they garnishee my monthly retirement wages? If so, would bankruptcy prevent this?

They can only garnish if they sue you and get a

judgement. Your retirement may not be exempt from

garnishment if it goes into your checking account.
