Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kentucky
Family in Legal situation
A family member filed for bankruptcy in KY. To make a long story short, they are wanting to walk away from their current home. My dh and I own a mobile home on their property. They want to relocate the mobile home to a ''rent to own'' property and have said that their bankruptcy will be discharged in 2 yrs and then they can buy the property and pay off our home and it would be theirs. We live in GA and don't plan to move back to KY. The family member never deeded us any of the property, we pay taxes on the mobile home only. So can they do this or would it be better for my dh and I to buy a peice of land and have the home moved and let them live in it? Also would any agreement we have drawn up hold up in court since they have filed bankruptcy? The family member in question was advise to do this relocation by a mobile home company, if that matters.

Re: Family in Legal situation
That you made a long story short is but one reason we can't provide an answer. The issue involves more facts, as well as information about the bankruptcy case. Assume that any transaction involving the bankrupt debtor or their property requires Bankruptcy Court approval first.
