Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kentucky

How often can I file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy

I previously filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy that was discharged in March 1998. I was retired from my job on medical disability July 31, 2000 which resulted in substantial loss of income. I am now over extended on credit card debt that I cannot pay. Can I file another Chapter 7 bankruptcy now?

You are not eligible for a discharge in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy

because enough time has not run since your last Chapter 7 filing.

You may, however, be eligible for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, in which

some of you income (disability payments) would be used to pay back

all or a portion of what you owe over a period of from three to five

years, with no interest on the unsecured debt.
