Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kentucky
I owe the IRS back taxes I want to know if I take chapter 7 bankruptcy can I put the IRS on it or not?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Whether you can discharge the income taxes or not depends on three factors that you do not state in your question. (1) The year of the taxes; (2) Whether you filed a return for the year the taxes were due and when you filed it, if you did; and (3) Whether you have entered into a settlement agreement pursuant to an offer in compromise within the last 240 days prior to filing for bankruptcy. I can answer more specifically if you call me on the telphone. You can call me at the number listed on my bio at this web site or you can call me anytime, including this weekend, if you wish, at this numbe nine one five two six one three eight nine three
