Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kentucky
Owners of past debts relating to Ch 7
If I had a debt that is over 10 years old still on the books, I am allowed to have it removed from my Credit report. But what happens if some one buys the debt or another agency tries to collect it. It the original debt isaddressed in CH 7, is the debt carried by the new agency also eliminated? If not, how can one find who owns what debts in one's past?

A bankruptcy discharge would apply to the debt, whether held by the "old" company or the "new" company. This assumes, of course, that the debt is dischargeable in bankruptcy, as most consumer debts are.
