Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kentucky
I am wanting to know about bankruptcy. I have a credit card that is in my name. I don't want to file and affect my husband in any way. We have a loan in his name, but it has mine on it too. Our house is in his name and I am a co-signer on it. Can I file on my credit card without it affecting my husband. I was not even sure if I could file. Thank you.

You may be able to file bankruptcy by yourself and not affect the debt that you are on with your husband. It will be important to meet with a bankruptcy attorney to determine if this is possible.
You are asking a common question - whether one can get a bankruptcy discharge on certain loans but not others. The answer is "no". You must list all your debts in a bankruptcy; it is an all or nothing situation. However, if you are co-signor on a debt with your husband and file bankruptcy as an individual, then he will still be responsible on the debt.
