Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
I have a 50/50 partnership (LLC) with my current company and would like to open another store, in the same city, but with a slightly different name but same type of concept. The new company/store would be just me as sole owner with different ID numbers, etc. as well as reliqueshing my business partner from any liability with the new company/store. The "old" company would still be in business. My current partner has no desire to expand and actually wants out of the original store but is waiting for the "right" opportunity. Do I need her permission to open this other store even if the name is slightly different plus will be a competley different company? Thank you.

Probably a good idea, to make certain your partner doesn't later object and want compensation. Get it in writing.
