Collecting Legal Fees
If I have a contract with someone that calls for him to perform a service, and he doesn't abide by the agreement and I have a lawyer sue him, can I ask the j
udge to add legal fees to the award if I win, even tho there is nothing about the lawyer's fee in the agreement? Thank You.

Re: Collecting Legal Fees
There is really no way to answer this question without seeing the contract itself. There may not be a provision directly related to attorney's fees, but there may be some other provision that provides for reimbursement of costs a non-breaching party may incur if that party must go to court to enforce the contract.
Finally, it may be that the cost of taking someone to court to enforce a contract may cost more than the contract is worth. It would be in your best interest to at least speak to an attorney to determine if you have a cause of action and whether or not it would be cost effective to pursue it.
