As a Franchise Attorney I can only say the answer depends on what you mean by "registered." Unless your non-profit registered its name as a trademark or service mark federally, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, there is likely nothing to be done. Consult with a good trademark or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
