Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
Non-Profit income generation
I am the director of a community house that serves the youth and elderly in a very small community. I am also a foreclosure mediator. My question is can I run the mediation business under the non-profit status of the community house and use those funds to fully supportI the organization? I would be paid either a salary or on a commission basis. Is this legal?
Thanks

Re: Non-Profit income generation
The first step is to take a look at the articles of incorporation and the bylaws to see what they might say on this.
The next step, if you want to be entirely safe, is seek a letter of determination or opinion from the IRS.
