Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
I have an outstanding balance with a local electric company, last month I owed my dad some money so he just told me to make check out to power company and he would use it toward paying his bill. Two days ago he received a letter from the power company stating that because I had wrote a check on his behalf they were going to add my outstanding balance to his bill, yesterday he received his bill and they had in fact added my balance to his. The balance if for around 450.00, can they legally do that? it is not his bill, and not my address. Any information you could give me regarding this situation would be greatly appreciated.

No, they cannot do that, unless for some reason your father had previously attached himself to your account in another way, such as cosigning for you. Otherwise, I doubt he has any contractual obligation to pay your debt.
