Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
I purchased a car from a local lot. When I signed the papers they gave me one set of keys to the car. I asked for the second set. They proceeded to tell me they only had one set to the vehicle. I recently got behind on 2 payments and my insurance was cancelled. I know I was in violation of the contract but my concern is that when they came to get the vehicle they had a key to get in and take it. Is this legal? I even have them on video tape from my place of employment getting into the vehicle and driving off using a key and an eyewitness.

Any attorney will say that repossession of a vehicle for delinquent payments happens all the time. The dealers have master keys that are used for repossession incidents. Focus on the big picture - try to work something out with them, or they will sell the car and sue you for any difference owned, including attorneys fees. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
