Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky

Say I just started working as a travelling saleswoman for a company selling their line of gold jewelry to stores in the Midwest. I agreed to work on commission and to drive my own minivan as transportation. Nothing was specified regarding expenses to me and at the end of the first month, i put in a request for payment of my travel expenses including tolls and mileage on her car, motel bills, and a daily food allowance. But along the way when i was backing out a local store i damaged a clients planter and requested payment for the money i gave her to replace it. Is my company that im working for responsible to repay me for any of the above expenses ive listed?

Thanks ahead.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. In the absence of a written agreement regarding travel expenses, you're pretty much on your own. You should have negotiated all that up front, or get it in writing now. About the damage to the planter, it depends on whether you're an employee or an independent contractor. If an employee, the employer is generally liable in most cases for the employee's negligence. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
