Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
Unlisting of Business Phone Numbers made by Competitor
Dear Sir,
My professional competitor, a large non-profit organization, called the area phone company to unlist my professional phone numbers in both yellow and white pages for the year 2002. My professional phone numbers are now unlisted in the phone directory - 2002.
This is the only means of advertisement I have. Where as the competitor advertise quite lavishly.
What legal recourse do I have and what laws have they breached ?
Thank you.

Re: Unlisting of Business Phone Numbers made by Competitor
What is a "non-profit" organization doing in competition with the normal business community unlesss the non-profit is a front? Why are you in competition with them? upfront you have a right to sue the "non-profit" and the telephone listing agency for damages. The real problem that you would have is in the proof that this organization did this and proof that you lost money because of it. If the non-profit identified itself to the phone company then why did the phone company change this? On your proof of damages, you would have to prove by business records that there is connection (and there can be a strong implication here)between the lack of a listing and loss of income. I would complain to the phone company. They would hate to have it public if they knew. But you will stillhave to have proof, in other words how do you know that they did this.
