Legal Question in Business Law in Kentucky
Unstolen money
I have been accused of stealing from company in which I was laid off from!My former employer e-mailed me and told me if I didn't pay them $3000 by tomorrow they were going to prosecute me. Shouldn't they have to provide proof to me before they can prosecute me? They have told me they will have me arrested if Idon't show up with the money by tomorrow. Can they do this?

Re: Unstolen money
First, if the accusations are actually true, then you need to go SEE a lawyer. Second, this is not a business law question, but a criminal law question so you might want to re-ask it and choose that category. Third, they can present evidence to the authorities and pursue pressing charges but they cannot, on their own, force an arrest to be made.
