Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kentucky

Americans with disabilities act

When filing a federal complaint or cival action against a business that is in another state, does the action need

to be filed locally or in the place of occurance? Also can anyone tell me which would be the proper forum for

questions about the Americans with disabilities act, title 3 ? This involves refusal of service to a disabled person.

Thanks

Re: Americans with disabilities act

The best place, if you don't have counsel , to file the action is where the defendant may be found. A lawyer can help you determine whether you can also file your claim in federal court where YOU are. If the wrong of which you complain was done to you by a business that is doing business in your state, then cahnces are you can sue them in your state. They can still attempt to have the case moved to where they are, so you might also consider suing them in state court. You really need a lawyer to help you figure this out, so that you don't get thrown out of court and lose your right(s), if any, in the appropriate court.
