Kentucky does not recognize common law marriages, but you may have some personal property rights in any items the two of you bought together. Items which you paid for, or owned prior to the relationship, belong to you, and your partner has no legal claim to them. Similarly, things he bought or had before you moved in together are his alone.

If your name is on your lease, your partner may have to take you to court to evict you.
