Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kentucky
Employment.
I asked my employer if the waitresses could have a small raise becasue we were barely making minimum wage. He proceeded to tell me nothing and then go to other employees and patrons and tell them that I was lazy, corrupted, ugly, a theif, etc. Then I was fired for a bad attitude all based on politely asking that question. Previously I had also asked to become a bartender and I was told no because I was a female and not as strong as the men. Do I have a case?

Re: Employment.
You have two possible causes of action. The first relates to your request for a raise for the wait staff. This activity may be protected. In addition, it sounds as though you were subjected to discrimination based on your gender. You should contact an attorney to discuss your case in more detail. I can be reached at [email protected] or at the numbers listed on my profile.
