Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kentucky

Ok, This is a tricky one , Im a 40 yr old woman with 3kids at home. (1 adult child,19)

for 19 yrs now i have been dating a married man with a very substantial amount of money.

He's a stock broker an no, he is not a father to any of my kids.

Twenty yrs ago he asked me to quit my job an he'd take care of us! It may not be the most moral decision ive ever made but , was in love an a new mom , an the thought of being home to raise my daughter apealed to me greatly!

From then on Ive paid no bills, rent or personal expenses, I dont even no how to write a check.

Now, you need to no that even tho i had no monetary worries, i was not given credit cards or any cash that i didnt prove was for a certain item. I had alot of money but had to account 4 all of it.

I wasnt given the freedom to spend at leisure. In short he took care of any buisness i had. Now that im not young he wants a new girl an im gettin shove asside. I have 20 yrs of leases, bills paid in his name, an pics of us on buisness trips!

I dont no how to take care of myself an im a diagnosed bi-polar manic depressive on meds.

Neither one of uswant his wife to know about us. Im not a prostitute or a gold digger, i love this man dearly but our times running out.

I only want what ive earned over twenty yrs so that my kids (who ar used to him as well) an my self do not suffer if we dont have to.

I would recommend talking to an attorney experienced in both family law and contracts. My gut feeling is that you probably don't have a case, but there might be a breach of contract angle to this (based on reliance). It would definitely take some lengthy research to figure out if that argument would fly though.

It never hurts to have a consultation with an attorney, even if you need to pay him or her to do some research on the matter. If it turns out you don't have a case and aren't entitled to anything, then at least you know to start planning ahead, looking into vocational training, and getting public benefits for you and your minor children.
