Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky
Bank account frozen
MY bank account was frozen by a law firm in Maryland yesterday. When I enquired, I found out that they have been sending court notices to an address where I stayed four years back. The notice was regarding a credit card balance which was past due. I have changed 3 or 4 addresses after that and I have been living in Kentucky since past 3 years.
I would have definitely attended the court if I received the notices. I want to pay the balance in installments now but cannot afford to pay the total due in a single payment of $10,000. And the law firm says the bank account will remain frozen until I pay the total amount including interest.
Is there a chance I could appeal for Notice of Motion to Vacate Judgment as I didn't receive any court notices. If so, could you please let me know what would be the procedure for that?

Re: Bank account frozen
You could seek to vacate the judgment based upon the lack of service and jurisdiction.
You can also assert your Kentucky exemption rights to some of the money in the bank.
