My payments are 600 plus dollars per month during the third month I've tried to pay that month payment was told that unless I made all the back months. And the mortgage company would not accept this month payment because I could not come up with the team hundred dollars that time a heavy used in the payments . We haven't told the 23rd of August to catch up before foreclosure procedures are started . Thank you

Re: house foreclosure

The mortgage holder is telling you that you must "catch up" all the payments at once. For most people who are several months behind, that is impossible. It is sometimes possible to get the lender to give you more time, but they seem to be tightening up on that.

One way to "force" them to give you additional time to catch up the payments you are behind, is to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In a Chapter 13, you repay your creditors under court supervision according to a plan of reorganization that the Court must approve. You can be given additional time to catch up late mortgage payments. It is not unusual for a person in such a situation to be given up to two years to catch up.

Good luck.
