Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

Small Claims Judgement and Collection

I am the Defendant. The judgement went in favor of the Plantiff in the amount of $1500 plus court cost and %12 annual interest. The judge did not stipulate how the award was to be rendered and I paid to the Samll Claims Circuit Clerk $100 on the day of the judgement to be sent to the Plantiff. The Plantiff's lawyer is now asking for the entire amount or garishment will occur. Can he do this if I am making an honest effort to pay the claim?

Re: Small Claims Judgement and Collection

Unless a Kentucky court judgment specifies otherwise,

the judgment creditor can demand payment of the entire

amount immediately. The creditor can seek to collect

the entire amount of the judgment through garnishment of

your wages, placing a lien on your house or other property,

or any other collection effort allowed by law.
