My husband's uncle wrote bad checks totalling approxiamately $800.00 in the state of Kentucky. Is this a felony or misdemeaner?

The felony threshold in Kentucky is $300. That said, your

relative could be charged with misdemeanors if he wrote a

number of checks, each of which was less than $300.

That is, one $800 check is a felony; eight $100 checks

are eight misdemeanors.
