Bank robbery in Kentucky
My husband was arrested and charged with Robbery 1 for robbing a bank in Kentucky. Is bank robbery in Kentucky a state or fedral charge?

It can become both. Robbery 1st Degree is a Class B felony and carries a sentence of 10-20 years. The federal government is also likely to become interested in the case as well. He needs serious legal counsel.

Bank robbery is both a federal and a state crime (assuming the bank is federally insured). Nearly all bank robberies used to be prosecuted as federal crimes, but more and more find themselves in state court. State court provides more opportunity for more lenient treatment, generally speaking, than federal courts do. You need a lawyer who is experienced in both state and federal criminal defense to advise you on this matter. (Many criminal defense lawyers do not regularly practice in federal courts ...).
