Is possession of marijuana a felony or a misdemeanor? What is the fine?

It depends upon the quantity and whether offense is possession or trafficking. Less than 8 ozs. trafficking is Class A misdemeanor More than 8 ozs less than 5 lbs. is Class D felony. Trafficking in 5 or more lbs., Class C felony. Possession of marijuana is Class A misdemeanor
