I need to know the statue of limitations for forgery in the state of Kentucky. If someone was convicted of said charge and fled would that affect the statute of limitations and how. Also the charge was knocked down to a class d misdermeaner would that cause any differences.

Re: forgery
There is no statute of limitations on a felony offense in KY. A misdeameanor must be charged within one year of its occurance, but once charged, there is no limit as to how long it can stay. There is no statute of limitations on a conviction. If a person is convicted, even of a misdeameanor, the penalty must be served, be it a fine, jail, etc. Leaving the jurisdiction only delays it and opens a whole new box of charges.
