Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

Grand Theft Class D felony

Nornally, what is the sentence for a class D felony (theft over $300.00)? this involved three diamond rings being stolen and sold at local pawn shops. Their combined total was $10,000 retail (about $3,000 actual store cost). This is the individuals first offense (unless a DUI conviction 7 years earlier would come into play). WIth the age of the accused being 33 years without a record, would a suspended sentence or probated sentence be remotely possible?

Re: Grand Theft Class D felony

A Class D Felony is one to five years and/or $1,000-$10,000 fine total. With a first offense, there are probation and even diversion possibilities, but probably only if full restitution is made.
