Hello!
I'm 20 years old.I was caught for shoplifting at JCPenny. The total sum is $54. I have a court next week. Will i be given a criminal record?How much money can I be charged?
I'm an exchange sttudent.That's my first time of being convicted.

You may be eligible for a diversion program that with some community service the case could be dismissed. If you have no record and have the right prosecutor this could be a result. You should consider hiring an attorney to assist you in this matter to attempt to avoid a criminal record.
