Indictments on firearm which KSP says is stolen

My husband was arrested at our home last April after we returned home from eating out. We had left a friend at our shop and they found a meth lab in a truck that belonged to an aquaintence,to make a long story shorter my husband got a poss. of meth that was found after getting a search warrant for our home and shop. They seized 6 guns that we own. So after he was indicted on poss. 2 mos. later he gets an indictment on a stolen firearm. How can I clear this up without this going any farther KSP ran the wrong numbers.KSP officer told us that it had been stolen 1 year ago we have had the gun for 5 or better years. I keep a firearm book with serial no.'s and pics. How can he make such a mistake?

I agree with Mr. Coy's answer. This needs to be communicated to your spouse's defense counsel.

The issue which you raise is a fact issue. It must be decided by a jury unless the police will concede your position. This is a matter that should be handled by your spouse's attorney. You must be very careful about communciating with the police or you could wind up charged yourself.
