Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
im in louisville,ky. and was wondering,when someone swears out a warrant how long does it generally take for a judge to approve it?is it the same day or does it take longer?

It is usually reviewed within a day. Exceptions might be on weekends or holidays IF the offense alleged is not "as serious" (say theft versus sexual assault).
Keep in mind that a prosecutor reviews it first, makes a preliminary determination of the offense(s) to be charged, and then the judge makes the final determination (for purposes of the warrant or summons).
A warrant calls for the arrest of the person charged; a summonses directs the person charged to appear in court on a particular day.
