Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
Can a your previous prosecuter now be your judge?
I have a friend who is getting ready to go on trial in a criminal case. The judge in this trial knows my friend from a previous trial. Years ago my friend had been on trial for a charge she was found not guilty of and this same judge was her prosecuter in that trial. Is there any law to keep this judge from hearing this case due to a conflict of interest?

Absolutely, unless your friend waives this conflict of interest.
