Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
rights
cops came to my sons house with a warrant for a frind that was there and the cops smelled pot. can they search his house with out a search warrant and state plice did not have a hat on.

It doesn't matter what the state police were wearing. Having the warrant was sufficient. You can always ask for idenitfication. If they smelled pot, that might be considered sufficient probable cause to search.
